Feitas as contas, sem gráfica, o custo do upgrade é de € 413,70; com a gráfica é de € 549,80, partindo do princípio que todos os outros componentes serão os já existentes: caixa, drives ópticas, discos duros, placas de som, rede, fonte de alimentação compatível, etc. e para uma utilização normal. Para quem gosta de jogos, há que escolher outro modelo de placa gráfica.
Em qualquer das hipóteses, uma fonte de alimentação para estes componentes, requer uma capacidade acima do que é considerado normal e existindo uma margem de segurança considerável, essa fonte de alimentação servirá para outros upgrades se o hardware não sofrer grandes necessidades de uma maior alimentação. Dada a minha experiência com várias fontes de alimentação, aconselho a Lc Power de 850W por ser silenciosa, fiável, com 4 rails na linha de 12V de 18A cada e cujas características vão a seguir:
